SINOPSIS
The role of this module is
to equip the student with an awareness of structured and object based methods
and techniques which they use. It aims to provide an appreciation of the
importance of project planning and control and the importance of the role
of users. It considers ways in which CASE tools can help the development
process.
OBJEKTIVES:On completion
of this module a students should:
1.0Understand
the systems development context and the benefits (and pitfalls) of using
methods
2.0Describe
the tools and the techniques which are used at each stage of the systems
development life cycle.
3.0Explain
the importance of the user role in systems development.
4.0Understand
the contribution which CASE tools can make the systems development process.
5.0Be
able to apply planning and control procedures to a project and critical
assess the issues involved.Compare the contrast at least alternative system
development methods.
